Reflections on Collective Growth and Bold Action  

 

Over the past few days, the team at Peeplcoach had the pleasure of partnering with the Women Leaders Institute as Principal Coaching Partner in Sydney and Melbourne. We were honoured to facilitate over 250 one-on-one and group coaching sessions. 

​

The beauty of attending these conferences is that we have the opportunity to learn as much as we contribute. 

 

What we learnt over the two days: 

  • Many organisations are deeply committed to addressing the challenges of discrimination, and the lack of diversity and equity in the workplace. 

  • Women’s “issues” are not solely “women’s issues.” Achieving balance in workplaces will require sustained effort from the entire community. 

  • Women sponsorship is critical. When was the last time you recommended or referred a female leader for a new opportunity? 

  • Simple changes can make a big difference, such as implementing blind shortlists during recruitment, using diverse interview panels, and creating more flexible work environments. 

 

What we learnt from our coaching sessions: 

  • Women leaders are incredible, and their organisations are fortunate to have them. 

  • These leaders often place immense pressure on themselves to succeed both at work and at home. 

  • Saying no is hard. 

  • Asking for help and support is hard. 

  • Taking the time to reflect and identify what we truly want is hard. 

  • Women are craving development opportunities (and they absolutely deserve them). 

  • Women have big dreams and need support from their community to make the tough decisions. 

  • Some women already know exactly what decisions they need to make to achieve their goals – so WATCH OUT. â€‹

As we approach the end of 2024 and begin planning for 2025, let’s be bold, be brave, think big, have fun, and take action.
